What are Etsy fees and how is it calculated?

Etsy handcrafted marketplace have a fixed fee structure for listing transaction, payment processing, and advertisement. You can also opt for an Etsy subscription to get custom domains and other tools. Here’s everything that Etsy profit calculator covers.

  • Listing fee – $0.20 per item, each listing is valid for up to 4 months. 
  • Transaction fee – 6.5% of total selling price excluding sales tax 
  • Payment processing fee – It depends on the country. For example, USA costs 3% + $0.25/transaction 
  • Offsite ads fee – 15% for sellers who make less than $10,000 in a year. 
  • Currency conversion fee – 3.5%

Example Calculation (If you sell an item for $100 (excluding tax), with $10 shipping):

  • Listing Fee : $0.20
  • Transaction Fee : (6.5% of $110): $7.15
  • Payment Processing Fee : (3% + $0.25 in the US): $3.55
  • Total Fees : $0.20 + $7.15 + $3.55 = $10.90
  • Net Earnings : $100 + $10 (shipping) – $10.90 = $99.10
